The Flavour Thesaurus

Inspired by Niki Segnit’s The Flavour Thesaurus, this self-initiated project explores how the book’s rich network of flavour pairings could be made easier to navigate visually.

I organised the ingredients into flavour families and used proportional circles to reveal the structure of the content. The size of each category and ingredient reflects its versatility, making it possible to see which flavours offer the greatest number of potential combinations.

Individual illustrations bring character to the data, while the poster format transforms the book’s extensive collection of pairings into an accessible visual overview designed for exploration.
